This is a very good quality, sturdy and smart desk chair. It was straightforward to fix together and an allen key (provided) is the only tool you need although the instructions could have done with words as well as pictures. The chair is comfortable as the height and back rest adjustments work very well to suit different heights and desks. Although i haven’t had this chair long, it does seem very durable and so should last longer than my previous home office chair which had a leather seat and arm rests which begun to rip. Overall i would recommend this chair for the home office.
The topstar ts10rbc0e trend star is a decent quality office swivel chair that comes with fixed arms. There is a version with adjustable arms, and also there is the option not to fit them at all. The chair arrived partly assembled in a huge box, and most of the additional packaging materials were recyclable. Putting the chair together took about 15 minutes, and although the instructions were just a series of picto-graphs, the whole assembly process was pretty intuitive. I only made one error (whilst fixing the left arm, but it took no more than a minute to rectify. Allen keys were provided for the only real screwing together, (attaching the arms) and everything seemed to line up well. I do find there is a bit of movement/play in the arms, despite being securely screwed in. The flat bottomed seat is comfortable, and the backrest has a built-in lumbar support that is firm, but supportive. The seat will adjust for height using a gas lift mechanism, and the back rest will tilt back and forward, and can be adjusted for height.

Overall i would recommend this chair for the home office. Here are the specifications for the Topstar Trend Star 10 Comfortable Office Swivel Chair:
- Ergonomically body shaped backrest with built in moulding in the area of the lumbar vertebra
- Flat seat with bolster for knees
- Fixed black “R(OPA)” ring armrest
- Black polyamide base
Decent quality – some issues. This is a substantial and well-made chair – but not without some flaws. The build quality is good, the fabric and cushioning robust and it is comfortable to sit on. The assembly instructions are woeful. I appreciate that they want to keep things simple and avoid language as far as possible so they can just produce one insert for multiple markets – but the graphics don’t tell you all you need to know to put this together. It is also certainly a 2 person job. There is a certain amount of adjustment as to the height of the back rest – but no way of adjusting how far back it reclines. For some people this might lead to an uncomfortable user experience. The fact that you can choose whether or not to add the arm rests is a good thing – as not everyone enjoys chairs with them. A good chair – just a few caveats.
This is a big chair which won’t be suitable for a small home office environment (it’s probably double the size of the argos version it replaces) but it does provide superb comfort with excellent support and good hydraulics. On the negative side it suffers, like many home versions of the real thing, of feeling a little cheap in places (flimsy connectors and the like). The chair itself comes flat packed with the base, back, rollers, arms and seat in separate pieces. It only takes about 15 mins to put together and is fairly intuitive, which is just as well because the accompanying instructions are pretty sparse. One of the screws that connected the arm didn’t screw in well and left it a little wobbly, but was resolved with a little on the fly diy. All in all a good quality home office chair, but this wouldn’t last long in a proper office environment.
Reviews from purchasers :
- Decent quality – some issues
- Stylish and sturdy
- a decent basic chair – but not much adjustment and pricey for what it is
This is an impressive chair for the home office. Once you get past the hopelessly inadequate instructions (four line drawings, with no text – why even bother if that’s all they can manage??) and work out for yourself how to assemble it, this chair is a really comfortable piece of office furniture. It’s height adjustable, with curved armrests and a really lovely, comfortable, high body shaped backrest moulded to support that area of the lumbar vertebra, stageless adjustable in height and depth. The five double-wheel safety castors are very effective on carpets and tiles, and you feel very sound and secure when using this chair. My back, especially, really feels so much better with this amount of support. It’s quite heavy by the standard of the average office chair, but that’s really another sign of its quality – this is stylish, sturdy and built to last.
A decent basic chair – but not much adjustment and pricey for what it is. This is a reasonably good office chair. It comes in kit form, but is straightforward to put together. The fitting of the arms is crude, but i didn’t find the same problems as my fellow reviewerswhen assembled its stable and comfortable and reasonably attractive. The controls are basic – you can raise and lower the overall height and you can adjust the slope of the back rest (or set it to the springy back setting – does anyone ever use that?. – pretty alarming to lean back and then find you keep going)it doesn’t have any control of arm height, depth or slope of seat or much control of the seat back position. So if it doesn’t fit you as it comes, there’s not much you can do about it. There is certainly not the degree of adjustment that anyone with back problems ought to be looking for, and at around £200 that rather basic level of control is disappointing.
