Everything you would want in an office chair. This is an excellent office chair. It is comfortable, easy to assemble, sturdy and well made and adjustable. Offers excellent back support. Perfect for long hours in front of a computer or at a work station. Comes in a big box with a serrated front flap that tears open. The box contains the three main bits – the backrest, the seat and the pedestal, along with the bolts, key to screw in the bolts, washers and armrests, assembles very easily. I did it in less than 5 minutes and with minimum effort. The wheels pop into the stand, the armrests screw onto the seat, the seat clips onto the base and the backrest slides into the seat.
Chair ok: instruction leaflet could be better. This is a mid-range chair, usefully occupying the generally rather empty space in the market between the cheap and cheapish chairs that (dis)grace far too many commercial and home offices, and imposing executive chairs, not all of which add a great deal more to the workstation than an expression of status. If you think this chair is expensive, pause for a moment to think how much we pay for comfortable chairs with a range of adjustments in a motor car. And most of us spend a lot more time at our workstation than we do in our car. Made in germany, this is a substantial chair, apparently well-made and likely to prove durable. Its looks are, to my mind, actually better than as pictured. The backrest is more substantial than it appears in the picture, and at most angles in most lights is less see-through. As delivered, it requires self-assembly from 12 main parts (including the five casters as separate items). In total, they weigh around 27kg, yet they are delivered in one large, heavy box. Delivered by parcel force by one man working alone, inevitably he had something to say about the weight, and the box was badly damaged.
Solid adjustable computer chair. This computer chair is made by topstar the german manufacturer of a vast range of high-end office chairs. It comes well packaged in a very large box. It is largely disassembled although all but the arm rests can be assembled without tools and within a couple of minutes. The chair casters simply attach to the five-spoke base, the pneumatic spring and cover slide into the base, the chair sits on top and the backrest slides into the mechanism at the rear of the seat. You will need to use the two allen keys and six screws to attach the arm rests. I’d suggest that you do this before assembling the rest of the chair, not doing so last as the instructions sort of suggest. It’s much easier to access the screw holes on the base of the seat before it’s completely assembled. The chair would seem to work almost as well without adding the arms if you’re short of space and want to be able to push the chair completely under a desk. In use the chair can be adjusted in several ways. Here are the specifications for the Topstar HE20PBC00E Head Point Comfort Swivel Chair:
- Convenient moulded seat with comfortable bolster for knees
- Point syncro mechanism, for the adjustment of the seat and the backrest angle
- Including height adjustable armrests P4
Very comfortable, well built office chair that can be used all day. . I work from home so need a comfortable office chair to use for the whole day. This has really fitted the bill nicely, well, nearly. Firstly, you need to assemble the chair as it arrives in pieces, but it is all relatively straight forward and i easily managed it on my own in about 20 minutes and all the tools you need are supplied. You have to attach the arm rests, wheels and slot the chair seat and back rest together and you’re then good to go. The seat itself is very comfortable and stays that way for extended periods of up to 3 or 4 hours of continuous use in my experience with no real sign of becoming uncomfortable which was very good. It is very adjustable, you can adjust the height and also the tilt of the back rest (which is made of material mesh and is also really comfortable), and also the height of the back rest so you can find a comfortable position. Unfortunately there is no tilt adjustment for the seat part which you would generally get on an office chair at this price. One minor irritation for me is with the arm rests. They do adjust up and down which is great, but they don’t quite go high enough for where my arms naturally want to rest.
As good as a herman miller office chair?. This chair arrived in its component parts but was easy to put together. Typical german efficiency, no need to even look at the instruction leaflet. Topstar is not a brand that i have heard of before but i like their style. This chair has a very high-end look and feel to it – i particularly like the curved back with an almost spine-like design. It fits together beautifully and looks like it will last for years. Height adjustment is good and the back can be angled or set to recline when pushed against. Seat is shaped and firm and the whole chair promotes good posture. I’ve been using it every day for a week and it feels really comfortable. I suppose i’ve always wanted a herman miller office chair but you could buy two or three of these topstar chairs for same price.
Reviews from purchasers :
- Been using this chair for a good few months now
- Everything you would want in an Office Chair!
- Very comfortable, well built office chair that can be used all day.
So it’s taken me a while to write the review as it took me about a week to pluck up the courage to put this together. This fear was borne out of the fact that it arrived in a huge box which has dominated the hallway for all this time. Thankfully fear was unfounded- i’m not a big or strong person by any means and also pretty nimble with my hands i’m usually not so great at putting things together. This is found pretty simple and all that is needed in the box. You do need a bit of patience and all in all it took me a bit over 45 minutes to assemble punctuated by a cuppawhat you end up with is a really steady and handsome looking chair. And comfort wise one of the best chairs i have used – and as a freelance worker i tend to hot-desk so have experienced many different chairs. This has the lovely balance of a neutral sort of look, and the comfort with support in all the right places. The height adjustments in general and also specifically for armrests work smoothly and aren’t difficult to work out. Like some others i didn’t follow the instructions entirely to a tee as it was quite intuitive.
This is a really nice chair. It seems a little expensive to me, but i get the impression that office chairs are always more expensive than you would expect. The quality seems really good – very sturdy and solid-feeling. The casters roll well, the hydraulic mechanism for lifting and lowering the seat seems robust, and the back support works well. The seat itself is nicely moulded and the armrests are made of a kind of squishy plastic, which is a nice touch. The whole thing was very easy to assemble (it only took me about 5 minutes, on my own – maybe i have some special, previously-unacknowledged seat-assembly skills, but it all just seemed to slot into place, and only the armrests needed screwing in).
