Office Hippo 24-Hour High Back Office Chair : Really comfortable and good quality

Previous review made be a bit concerned but i liked the look of the chair and the price. The previous review made be a bit concerned but i liked the look of the chair and the price, so i thought i would give it a go with the view i could always send it back. I needn’t have been concerned. It was fairly straightforward to assemble and it is a really well built, solid chair with lots of features to adjust for comfort – the most difficult thing is working out what combination of adjustments work best for me.

Solid, comfortable, highly configurable. . I have put together about 10 different high spec office chairs in the past and this one is the best so far. Pro’splenty of paddinggreat lumber supportwide armssliding seat to give your behind more room before the back resttotally configurable, good for larger person, doesn’t sink @ 105kgvery solid buildcons – none really. I had to use a socket set as allen keys would not have got to all the bolts under the levers.

I couldn’t believe how hard and uncomfortable this chair was, despite being promoted as a 24 hour chair. Yes, it adjusts in more ways than you can count so you can get a good fit to your body, but if the padding isn’t there and you have to add cushions, what’s the point?.Probably just fumes from the foam in the seat and back and might have worn off after a while, but i had to evict it from my home-office/bedroom overnight so i could sleepif you like a firm chair and need the range of adjustments it offers it might suit you very well but be aware of two further things. I found it impossible to bolt the main assembly onto the underside of the chair seat fully because some of the bolt holes were difficult to access. I used other tools to achieve the final result and only afterwards realised that if i had used the seat slide lever to move the assembly i could have reached all the bolts easily. A mention of that in the instructions would have saved my struggles, but you know how basic those tend to be. Another thing i couldn’t have anticipated was just how heavy all that clever hardware makes the chair. It was difficult for this back-sufferer to move, especially on carpet. Reviews from purchasers :

  • Sturdy & Versatile

  • Solid, comfortable, highly configurable.

* chair feels very sturdy – feels built to hold bigger people. * the price is in the lever mechanisms (which weighs half a tonne) – the rest of the chair is basically the same as a standard swivel chair. * the instructions are a little shoddy, if you decide to buy it, the bolt in stage 2 is the small one which there is only 1 of, and there are no pre-made holes for the pump (#18 in step 3), so a screwdriver and some elbow grease is needed. * the armrests adjust vertically about 2 inches and horizontally about 1 inch. * the backrest doesn’t tilt back very much, however the entire chair can, so it is quite versatile. * i think the adjustability is made to help with prolonged use, however the actual comfort of the fabric & padding isn’t anything to shout about. * to raise the backrest, literally lift it, and you will hear clicks. Letting go immediately after a click will lock it into that position. If you raise it all the way then it will reset back to the lowest position.

Really comfortable and good quality. Easy to adjust, really comfortable and good quality. It wasn’t complicated to assemble; in fact it was very simple. It has made a huge difference to my sitting position as supports in the right places.
