Ikea MARKUS – Swivel chair : This is the best office chair i have ever sat in

Not for those long in the body. . If your tall from the waist up this chair probably won’t suit you. I find that the bottom of the headrest digs in my shoulders, whilst almost missing my head. As much as i’ve tried to work around this, i find the fact i lean forward ever so slightly to avoid the headrest, gives me neck ache. If not for this issue it would an excellent chair for the money ikea charge.

This is the best office chair i have ever sat in. Buy this chair from ikea it is much cheaper. This is the best office chair i have ever sat in, the lower back support is soft and flexible so it doesn’t ‘stick in’ to your lower back and cause back ache after sitting for hours. Leaning back in this chair is more comfortable as the whole chair doesn’t recline like most office chairs, it has a completely different action whereas the back slides down when you lean back giving a more ergonomic recline.

Good build quality and ergonomy for the price. . For the price ikea markus is remarkably well built and has great egonomy. + seat and neckrest is real leather (beware of faux imitation leather on chairs, as it tends to flake with some wear). + foot/base of the chair is robust metal+ back provides proper support+ 10 year warranty, ikea built these to lastthe chair may not look comfortable, but it actually provides great back support and is really comfortable for long sessions. Most chairs in this price range that look like recliners or racing seats, are really bad for your back in the long run. Markus does however not have adjustable arm-rest, but i would rather have a stationary solid arm-rest than a flimsy one that breaks. I highly recommend this chair for office and gaming use. Protip: if you lock the back into a stationary position, you might notice that there is still a little play. To minimize this you should also adjust the swivel to the stiffest possible, prior to locking it. Here are the specifications for the Ikea MARKUS – Swivel chair:

  • -10 year guarantee. Read about the terms in the guarantee brochure.
  • -you sit comfortably since The chair is adjustable in height.
  • -The adjustable and Lockable tilt function increases stability and control in different sitting positions.
  • -your back gets support and extra relief from The built-in lumbar support.
  • -The mesh material of The backrest lets air through to your back during Long sitting periods.

Reviews from purchasers :

  • Excellent addition to my loft bedroom
  • This is the best office chair i have ever sat in

When i first bought this chair last year, it seemed perfect – comfortable, adjustable, great all round. So, here i am, 1 year on, and it’s started giving me static electric shocks. I work at my computer, swivel around, get up and bang i get an electric shock. I would have given this five stars, but not now. For £130, i expect better than this. Think very carefully before you buy one of these chairs.

Really satisfied with the the chair😊. Really satisfied with the the chair😊.

Excellent addition to my loft bedroom. I bought this chair from ikea for £130 brand new with a free 10 year guarantee (price when this review was written). The chair took about 15 minutes to set up and is very, very comfortable. I often spend up to eight hours a day designing on my computer and gaming in front of the tv so i needed something which was great for my back and bottom. After scouring the internet for reviews on this chair, i dubiously settled for this (never spent so much on a chair before) and i am very glad i did. You can decline the backrest to up to about 40 degrees, as well as like many chairs, increase or decrease the height of the seat. Despite the back not being made of real/synthetic leather, it is extremely comfortable and designed ergonomically to compliment your spine’s natural shape. The headrest is also an excellent feature and just takes the comfort up a notch. This chair may be too high for some people especially if you are using it in an apex loft room. However my desk is situated at the centre of my loft so this is no real issue for me.

    1. This is by far the best computer / home office chair that i’ve come across. This is by far the best computer / home office chair that i’ve come across. It’s sturdy, wide enough to rest even a fattie like me with a 42″ waist. It appears in the top 5 for best computer user chairs and is highly recommended. Ergonomically it’s great, it’s got a little padding strip that keeps good posture while typing (prevents slouching, which despite personally being annoyed by, it works and it’s better for me) / when not leading back into it, and when you choose to lean into it it offers great support. The seat re-puffs itself up after you stand from it opposed to being crushed in as time sets in. You can lean back on it, just be careful as i nearly overbalanced once when i feared it wouldn’t stop. :p- cons : the arm rests could do with being a little thicker, but that could just be me. Mine was missing a bolt, however i was able to salvage right size bolt from chair i was replacing (some racer seat looking plastic monstrosity)if you have short legs it may be a bit hight for you as on it’s lowest height setting my feet rest comfortably on the ground 31″ inner leg. For best bets just get from ikea as is 125 from their store.
