HJH Office : Decent chair – crappy wheels

Was happy with this chair, seems good quality, however the wheels on the legs are rank, ha ha, but when theres weight on the chair the wheels are fine, the covering seems quite good, in all was very happy with this purchase, i have had the chair for around 2 months now, looks as good as new, i will update this statement after a few months, this chair was very cheap for how it looks and feel.

I’ve now had this chair since 2015 and i must say, it’s excellent. Comfy, easy to use the arm rests and tilts back nicely.

I bought a chair from argos with no head rest and with no extended period comfort for £40. I can say that investing in a good chair will save you in the long run forcing you to buy a replacement. This chair is padded for comfort, looks slick, and has adjustable arm rests so that it can fit under your desk at a decent height. I am very happy with this purchase considering i bought a chair without trying it out, the only nice to have i would have liked was a reclining back rest but office chairs are expensive these days so you can’t expect much. Like the others have pointed out the wheels are a bit stiff but it’s not a massive issue for me.

I look and feel is very nice and chair is very comfortable as i sit in. I look and feel is very nice and chair is very comfortable as i sit in it for long times for gaming, my only problem is that the arm rests seem to be made of memory form and one of them has take the shape of my elbow and now it has a dent in it all the time even after not being used for many hours.

Something comfortable to sit on in office. Old office chair pretty basic compared to this one, family think it looks like a racing car seat. Its comfy only slight bugbear is the wheels on chair bit stiff but i’m sure will loosen up over time.

Excellent chair, incredible value for money and best customer service ever received. This chair has been excellent. Im very picky and put in a lot of time reading through various reviews and deciding which gaming/office chair i wanted (on a budget too). This one was adjustable and goes low enough to fit under my desk comfortably (ikea desk with a drawer) which not many others could. The arm rests can be raised or lowered which is perfect because it allows you to play guitar at the same chair instead of having to move around. This sounds minor but if you want to mess around with recording, editing, etc then its ideal. One of the main reasons i bought it. This is the first office chair that i have not automatically slouched in. I think my posture is quite poor normally but this thing helps me to sit up straight a lot more and after a few days of getting used to the chair, it doesnt feel stiff or unnatural. The base is strong and the wheels are smooth (havent cracked or snapped off like on many others which were far more expensive).

Well packaged, came fast, quite easy to assemble on your own. Comfortable, with decent support and tilt. The only negative for me is that the castors are stiff. A couple of assembly tips: make sure you attach the metal under seat base with the big twisty tilt knob under the front of the seat. And only half tighten the screws on the arms until you have both the seat base and back assembled to both arms. It will give you some ‘wiggle room’ and help you to align all the holes and screws easier.

Unfortunately, it came via ups who delivered it to a drop-shop 1. 5 miles away and this thing weighs 17kg in the box.The box is quite big and not particularly easy to carry, either. Putting it together (there’s some assembly needed) should be a two-person job but can be done by one if they’re experienced putting flat-packs together. It took about 10 minutes to make and wasn’t too complicated, just awkward as the pieces are large and heavy. The only negative is the wheels – they don’t turn very well and some people have gone so far as to buy replacement casters. I find that they turn better with weight on, i. When you’re sat on the chair, but they can still be a bit stiff. The casters are definitely not a deal-breaker, though and if you have a problem with them, replacements can be easily found for £5-£6. Once built, it really looks good and is amazingly comfortable so sit on. It has a gas lift mechanism and tilts back nicely with a variable resistance. The arms raise so that the chair can be tucked far under the desk and out of the way.

I was able to carry the box up two flights of stairs on my own, although it is a little on the heavy side. Upon opening, it was clear that the chair was of good quality. All the necessary parts were present and they all looked and felt solid. Assembly: the instructions were pretty clear and i managed to put it together by myself, for the most part. Attaching the back rest and arms did require some help in order to align everything correctly.     Able to lock into fixed upright position or unlocked which allow a sprung reclining function. The arms which move up and out of the way are great in case the desk gets in the way.

    1. I have spent many hours in it at my desk writing assignments and doing admin. It’s comfortable and has arms that fold up for easier storage and it tilts slightly back for when a thinking pause is required.

    I work from home so i needed a good chair that would provide comfort and support throughout the work day but i didnt want anything too big. This chair seemed to fit the bill as its about the right size. . I chose this one as the arms swivel up and down airplane style. This is crucial as i can push them out of the way when i want to get closer to the desk and push them down when i dont so a good bit of versatility. Quality seems good and its branded by a stitched in ticket so not just a generic one as theres a lot on here that look the same and vary in price. Would have liked thicker padding on the seat though and i`ll need to see if this will depress over time. No issues with the way the wheels work as some have stated, i can move myself around on carpet no bother and it has a little bit of tilt for when i`m on the phone. Usability, its comfortable enough and supports my 6′ 3″ frame through the day and i can relax back into it with the arms down. Aesthetically, it looks tha part and is quite modern, it thats your bag.

    1. Great product, worth the money. . Really comfortable and easy to assemble, definitely worth the money. Reason for 4/5 is the horrendous castors but,5 x replacement office computer chair stem swivel castors casters wheels black are a great replacement.

  18. I’ve only had it for a couple of months but is it absolutely fantastic. It is not as cushioned as i thought. I am a web developer who works from home 2 days a week and this chair handles my 7 hour sessions no problem. I’ve only had it for a couple of months but is it absolutely fantastic. It is not as cushioned as i thought it would be but it is still very comfortable and i never get a “numb bum”. I am also an avid gamer and spend at least 2-3 hours a night sitting on this chair. The chair also reclines which makes it perfect for relaxing for a few minutes when i die in rainbow six: siege or need to spend a few minutes pondering how to fix the next bug in my web application. I’m not certain if other people received different casters to me but mine are absolutely fine. I can glide across our tiled kitchen to annoy the wife when she’s trying to make dinner, and moving around our carpeted living room is effortless. I have never had to lift the chair to move it.

    I have had the chair for close to a year. I have had the chair for close to a year now and it has worked very well, only downside is the hydraulic canister has weakened so i can only sit on it for about 2 minutes at full height before it sinks back to the lowest setting.
